Continuing
our series of USN GUPPY conversions, we will be offering the next in our
series: SS-377 USS Menhaden. Menhaden was rebuilt to the "Electric Boat" design for GUPPY Fleet boats, notable by the distinctive "EB Sail" that replaced her conning tower. USS Menhaden served as a GUPPY IIa fleet boat from 1953 to 1971. After decommissioning, she was painted orange and used as a training target until 1988. Our kit of the Menhaden represents her 1950s configuration. The kit contains resin, white metal and photo-etched parts. |

Razorback was rebuilt to the "Portsmouth" design for GUPPY Fleet boats, notable by the distinctive "EB Sail" that replaced her conning tower. USS Razorback served as a GUPPY IIa fleet boat from 1953 to 1970. After decommissioning, she was sold to the Turkish Navy and renamed TGC Murateis (S-336). She served in the Turkish Navy from 1974 to 2001. She gained further life when she was purchased by a museum group, towed to the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum in Little Rock AR in July 2004 where she is on permanent display and open to the public. Our kit of the Razorback represents her 1950s configuration. The kit contains resin, white metal and photo-etched parts. |

This
kit depicts "Indy" from mid 1944 through may 1945. Indianapolis
had one last refit in June 1945 and with a little work, the modeler can
alter the kit so that she appears in her final configuration at the time
of her loss in August 1945. |
